Utah's Present History Salt Lake Assembly Hall at Temple Square
The Assembly Hall has been used for over a century as a place of worship and conferences. In 1980, the organ was replaced with the present one that is still used today. The Assembly Hall was built mostly using left over granite from the Salt Lake Temple. Unlike the Temple, the granite for the Assembly Hall was not finished nor polished which gives it a rougher, gray appearance.
